My pet pidgeys done been acting weird and i been a wondering if hes been doing a little crack? He is not focusing and not obeying me, He done used gust on a group of small kids? Is he using? What do I do?

A: Stop trying to train him until you get another gym badge.

Q: My neighbor give his pet dog alcohol and drugs should I report him?

A: uuhhhhh…..yeah? Otherwise you might as well kill the dog yourself.

Q: Do dog groomers give your pet drugs to make them more mellow before they groom them?

A: Not legally unless you ok it.

Q: Are there any risks of taking a pet’s left over prescription drugs?
My dog was prescribed Prednisone for cancer, but it caused him adverse side effects so we only administered a couple of the tablets to him. Now I have been prescribed Prednisone for Bell’s Palsy. Are there any significant risks of my using the leftover 20mg Prednisone tabls since it is the same drug used in humans?

A: Did you get the medication from a pharmacy or from the Vet’s office?

If you got it from the Vet’s, do not take it. The production standards of pet medications are much different that those for human medications.

If you got it from a pharmacy, then it might be alright for you to take it. However, be sure that the drugs are the same strength before you do anything. Also, be very careful that you are following the directions correctly. Prednisone prescriptions can be quite vague.

Talk with your doctor or a pharmacist who can accurately assess your individual situation before taking any action.

Good luck

Q: Any site that will give me Rx pet drugs without proof? Local vet *lost* proof the last prescription?
Yeah even though they have filled the prescription (Rimadyl, for arthritis/pain) two times they say they dont have it on record, which means i’d probably be paying 60-100 bucks +the cost of the drugs. I know there are lots of websites, and they say they need proof of rx, but frankly, I dont have it and would like to save a little money and make it so my beagle can play/jump again. She’s about ten or eleven years old and gets arthritis pretty bad.

A: No, all companies require a Vet prescription for prescription drugs because these drugs are regulated by the FDA therefore a script is required and a Vet’s license number is required. I don’t understand how your current vet does not have record ? That sounds frustrating.

Q: Estrangers finance the prostituition, wild animals traffic and drugs traffic in nations of 3º world?
The consume of the drugs and the pet shopings in nations of 1º world induce the people to crime against nature and another crimes.
Travel agencys induce tourists to sexual tourism.
Do you agree to that?

A: If I could understand you, I might or might not.

Q: Chinese make fake precription drugs that killed people, and bad pet’s food. Why should we buy chinese products
Many American pets have died due to pet’s food made in China. Many of U. S. citzen has died due to fake prescription drugs made in chine and smuggled to USA.

Why we should buy made in China products? Why we should help the Chinese when they don’t hate the American Culture?

Can someone give a logic answer?

Clara

A: We should keep buying Chinese made products because not everything made in China is bad. In the United States we have been buying and using Chinese products for the last 20 years, but why are we seeing such problems with Chinese products only recently?

Big and successful corporations like Walmart conduct business in China carefully. They work closely with the manufactors in China to make sure that the products that they sell meet USA standards. But recently a lot of smaller businesses realize there is big money to save by getting stuff made in China, but they don’t have the abilty to monitor the quality nor the resources to do safety tests. This is compounded with the fact that in China there are corrupt business men who are cutting corners to make an extra buck but endangering people’s lives as a result.

However, there is an overwhelming amount of goods made in China that are safe and of good quality. Just look at most of the clothes, linen, household goods and electronics in our lives today, they are most likely made in China. Are any of those items not meeting our quality bar?

Don’t get me wrong, China needs to improve its quality and standard in manufactoring. If there is product that is dangerous then the Chinese manufactors have to be held responsible, but we need to hold the US business that import these faulty products accountable as well.

On a ssparate note, if you want to keep all the manufactoring jobs in the US then I would support boycotting Chinese products. I would also support boycottng any products not made in the USA. But that is a different issue.

Q: Should anyone give their pet dog any portion of human drugs such as aspirin, bufferin etc…?

A: NEVER!

Q: has your pet been high on drugs>?

A: Yes I often catch my goldfish sniffing sneaky lines of the back of their tank. I slap their fins and send them to their castle and shout. “Dont let me catching you do that again you filthy fish, your not a hoover, but every 7 seconds he forgets and we complete the whole cycle again very tiresome.

Q: FDA’s Power? Pet Foods Poisoned? Prescriptions Drugs Pushed on TV ADS…?
Am I the only one Who knows How Powerful and How Dangerous thFDA are? They DO NOT HAVE the interests of Americans in mind—only money runs their decisions. Otherwise why would tobacco and alcohol and thousands of dangerous prescription drugs be legal, if the FDA is so worried about health issues? It’s a masquerade! Do you know the FDA really stands for? …

A: I couldn’t agree with you more. In fact, on one other question I answered about how totally corrupt, controlling, and powerful the FDA has become (and how they wish to start controlling vitamins), one of the fellow answerers was actually defending them — stating that the FDA is trying to protect people from harmful vitamins!! I couldn’t believe it. Is that why the FDA constantly bans certain effective supplements from the market, and then they allow toxic, unsafe prescription drugs to be promoted and sold to consumers?! America needs to wake up. It just amazes me ignorant some people really are. I guess the government does a really great job of brainwashing some people out there. And you are absolutely right – if the FDA really cared so much about the welfare of the citizenry, then alcohol and tobacco would be prohibited. The truth is they don’t care about us at all.

Q: Is there any safe anti inflammatory drug for my pet rat?
My pet rat, Bill, has developed a VERY swollen leg. There are no signs of any external injury and I’m afraid of the worst- Maybe cancer. I took him out early this morning to clean his cage and didn’t notice anything wrong, but about 12 hours later when I opened his cage to feed him, I noticed it. He is over 5 years old and I’ve had him since he was about 5 weeks old. He is moving around allright, but slightly dragging the leg. I may not be able to get him to the vet for a few days depending on when I can get an appointment, so does anyone know af a rat safe human drug or herb etc, (and the dosage) I can give him in the mean time to reduce the swelling? Thanks so much!
Bill has been to the vet. It’s still undetermined what the cause is (we’re waiting on test results…).
The swelling started to go down before the vet visit and is now nearly gone after starting a course of preventative sulfatrim and topical lidocaine. Thanks for your answers.

A: I’m sorry that your rats leg is swollen but there isn’t any human medicine that will work for a rat as an antiinflammatory. They are soo tiny and the dose would be a microscopic amount that they would be able to metabolize and tolerate. I suggest that you try to get him to the vet ASAP. It very well could be a tumor but most tumors aren’t cancerous. They can be removed but they will most likely return. The vet will be able to tell you for sure what is going on and how to possibly treat it. Your lucky that you’ve gotten 5 years with him. You are obviously a great rat owner. I hope he gets well soon. Good luck

Q: while stoned on recreational drugs, If I see my pet ferret changing batteries in the remote, should I do more?

A: Thanks for the big laugh. No, let your ferret change the batteries, it probably has more sense than you do at this point.

Q: Do you have to be licensed to do annual vaccinations on pets and receive the drugs?
The reason I was asking is because my cats get so traumatized each time I put them in the car and drive them to get their shots. I have someone willing to teach me to give them their shots so that I do not have to put them through this. I thank all of you who were kind enough to respond to me in a caring way. I love my cats very much.

A: In most states it is legal to buy and administer vaccines to your own pets. The only exception is the Rabies vaccine. While it is legal to buy and administer the vaccine to your own pet, it doesn’t count if your area requires proof of rabies. For instance while your pet may be vaccinated against rabies, if you go to license your dog brining in the empty vial won’t be adequate proof of vaccination, to be legal rabies has to be done by a veterinarian.

Edited to add: Giving subQ vaccinations is not difficult at all and can be pretty much mastered with a bit of practice by almost anyone. Even in nursing school we only spent a brief amount of time studying how to do them. They’re very easy if you understand how to do them. Some I wouldn’t necessarily recommend is intramuscular. That can be painful to your pet as it stands and even worse with a newbie doing it. Lucky for you though most vaccines are subcutaneous. I wish I could remember what we used to practice on, to practice for intramuscular we used an orange. There’s even a practice pad you can buy that’s around $50 that simulates the skin and underlying tissue, but, I would think you could also practice on a half filled water balloon..

There are the basics if you want to read them over in advance of your friend showing you how. Something a lot of people forget is to aspirate it back a little to make sure you’re not in a vein. If you get blood back into the syringe, you’ve got to reposition it.

Q: Tenants in above apartment problems with noise, pets, drugs.Landlord plays favorites.?
Does the landlord have a legal obligation to tenants to remove someone who is dealing drugs?landlords son hangs out with these guys(ages 19-20) they always break the noise after 10pm rule& they had the cops called on them for a party gone bad at 3 am (windows smashed)&drugs but the guy lied to the cops and said he lost the medicinal marijuana paper (he said the drugs were from snowboarding accidents). the cops didn’t do anything because the guy also said he knew a cop (gave a fake name out to them and admitted it after they left). I was listening to everything they said out my window and heard all the plans to lie to the landlord and how they were lucky the cops didnt arrest them b/c the medicinal marijuana paper doesn’t exsist. i have friends that went to high school with them but stopped hangin out with them b/c they did drugs and they claim they r the biggest drug dealers in the antelope valley.no pets in lease and they have 3 cats a french bulldog.landlord told us no pets. she gives us attitude for complaining about others who just go out and get pets or say they’re baby-sitting a pet(we want a dog too). the ppl nextdoor moved out b/c of their constant noise, but we cant afford to.i wish i could film these guys and show the cops or some1 but thats illegal.help

A: First things first – they are humans, too. Regardless of whether or not they do drugs, they still are human. If it gets too noisy, go upstairs, personally, and knock on their door and tell them that you’re trying to sleep. If it continues, then get the landlord in. If that doesn’t help, call the police tip line (there is one in every town), and let them know that you smell marijuana burning outside their apartment. That should get their attention.

But do consider that they are humans first. Some people like to party and don’t realize that they’re bothering others.

But if the issue is not resolved, and they are rude, definitely call the police hot line and let them know that you can smell marijuana.
